It appears that God does not want His people to forget this day. This is week number 4.... of talking about Unleavened Bread and the importance of remembering it! Seriously? Four weeks about a cracker?
It is as though God is following the old teacher rule: I'm gonna tell what I'm gonna tell ya; Them I'm gonna tell ya; Then I'm gonna tell ya what I told ya!......
1. I'm gonna tell you what is going to happen. 12
2. It happened 12
3. This is why it happened. 13
The Feast of Unleavened Bread is a BIG Deal. It is the basis of how God deals with any Empire that is not of His Kingdom. He doesn't want us to forget this event that happened in the Spring of the year.
His people are moving from one "house to another": Pharaoh's House of Bondage....to....God's House of Safety.... and God does not want them to forget. When we were redeemed.... we changed 'houses' also. We are now in YHVH's House.
We need to see the link between the redeemed firstborn and unleavened bread. At the first Passover.... all firstborn were redeemed by the blood of a lamb on the door of their house. Now we are redeemed by the blood of Yeshua.
We keep this ‘commandment’... to observe this event on a yearly basis.... in order to remember the very significance of it. Apart from the COMMANDMENT, we would never think of it....except as some minor historical reference or footnote! And soon, we would have forgotten all about being in bondage to Egypt.
The “Remembering” is an understanding and acknowledgment and appreciation of God who accomplished our redemption. And Redemption is a BIG Deal!
