O Lord, our God, what is this that You have done?
You created Adam brilliant in mind and spirit.
He was not destroyed by Your power, but flourished in Your
presence and Light.
His mind could grasp the secrets of the universe,
yet he could understand the hearts of the creatures You created.
Innocence was his clothing and glory was his covering.
You placed Your heart’s love into his.
You wrapped his spirit in the earth he was to love and called it skin.
There he stood before You, the glory of Your creation,
Your very image, created to guard and rule the earth.
His authority was astounding and his understanding thrilling.
His free will was focused on loving and pleasing You.
And then came the fall, the betrayal, the tragedy of all time.
Adam joined Lucifer’s rebellion . We call it the fall of man.
Your broken heart marched through human history as Your
stunning plan for the redemption of mankind unfolded.
There is only one way for a human being to be more brilliant than Adam.
And there is only one way for a human spirit to soar with more love.
Your Plan calls for drastic action.
You must come Yourself as fully God and fully man, brilliant and loving.
Fully God and fully man, you put down the rebellion that brings
death and hatred and darkness and evil and deception.
The price You have paid is beyond belief or gratitude.
The Blood You have shed is beyond value or understanding.
You have risen to the need and from the grave.
Your words thunder through the universe shattering every vestige of rebellion.
The scattering of Your enemies is so complete, we can forget they ever were.
O Lord, keep rising and keep speaking and keep rescuing and keep loving
and keep redeeming and keep listening and keep dancing….
yes, dancing!
You dance with pleasure. You exult over us with singing and shouts of joy.
For this battle is not an effort for You. It s not a problem.
You have everything well in hand.
You laugh at the plans of Your enemies and sing with joy over Your children.
Your laughter is power and it rules the universe.
Your enemies scatter in all directions.
And You return….You return gladly….You return right on time….You return
with power and glory and victory, eternity crashing into time, now and forever.
So, return O LORD, to the myriad thousands of Israel.
Return to us. We want you.
Maranatha!
